Our school logo was created in 1975, when the school changed it’s name from The Sacred Heart Convent School, to be known as Good Counsel Primary.
Motto
Our school motto is Seek, Learn and Serve.
These words are nestled beside the Cross within our logo to signify that in Christ we:
- Seek to be wholly educated – Mind, Body and Spirit
- Learn for the betterment of ourselves and our world
- Serve God by journeying inclusively and respectfully
Vision
Good Counsel Primary strives to be an authentic, positive Catholic community connected to the Charism of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan in the Order of Saint Benedict, and the traditional owners of the land on which the school is situated, the Mamu people. We acknowledge parents/carers as the first and ongoing teachers of their children. Good Counsel Primary engages with new knowledge and technologies, allowing them to inform and improve our teaching and learning, preparing our student and adult community for future learning and their ongoing educational journey. Good Counsel Primary endeavours to support the holistic (social, spiritual, physical and academic) development of adults and students within our community, assisting those with whom we share a journey, to make a positive contribution to the community and to unfold to full human expression.
